I got to meet the Marvelous Marvin Hagler in the old Sharks Club in Las Vegas one night. I actually got into a conversation with him. I felt so lucky because he was my favorite fighter from back then. We had this conversation about the Sugar Ray fight if my memory serves me because it was either 1991 or 1992 and this is about the same thing he told me and I agreed with him 100% and I had always believed it. I watched the fight live, and many times since, and Marvin did not lose that fight. Just my opinion, but Sugar did not do enough to win that fight. You simply cannot run for 2:45 minutes of every round, set yourself and throw a stunning flurry of punches in the final seconds of the round and win the round. No one scores a fight like that in favor of the fighter evading contact, now and back then. It's very disingenuous to do so.
